The ADU Designer FAQ

Questions about The ADU Designer.

Can I use The ADU Designer before my feasibility study?

Yes. The ADU Designer is open to everyone, free. Design as much as you like; your feasibility study then confirms which models and options fit your lot, and your price is confirmed there before you sign.

What can I actually customize?

Floor plan, exterior style, exterior colors and trim, interior finishes, fixtures, and hardware. Every model has dozens of layout, bedroom, bathroom, and finish combinations to choose from.

Does customizing cost extra?

Classic Craftsman is our standard, included exterior finish on every model. Urban Farmhouse and Ultra Modern are upgrades, and the upgrade fee varies by model size, so the Designer shows your estimate as you select them rather than a flat rate. See the three styles in more detail on our styles page.

Is the Designer price final?

It's an estimate. Your feasibility study confirms the costs specific to your lot, like permits and site work. When you sign, your selections are locked in, and your model price, your add-ons and any promotion you qualify for are held for you.

“My first telephone conversation with Cathy (Owner) was one of the best, positive and kind discussions. She was thinking outside of the box and provided a possible solution like a family member. Thank you.”
